Six new flood gauges are being placed in League City just in time for hurricane season, which which runs from June 1 to November 30. Three will be in the Clear Creek watershed, and three in the Dickinson Bayou watershed. Two gauges will be installed per day, with all gauges being installed by Tuesday, May 11, weather permitting. These flood gauges will help monitor rainfall and stream levels in areas during heavy rainfall events. Once installed and operational, data from these flood gauges will be published on harriscountyfws.org. Residents can check the site to track water levels during high rainfall events.
The flood gauges are located at the following locations:
- Bay Area Blvd at Magnolia Creek
- FM 518 at Landing Ditch (near to Landing Blvd)
- Borden Gully Dr/Hughes Lane @ Borden Gully
- FM 646 @ Benson Bayou
- Egret Bay Blvd @ Clear Creek
- FM 646 @ Gum Bayou
