The League City Police Department would like to congratulate Cliff Woitena for being promoted to the newest Assistant Chief for the League City Police Department. On October 2, Chief Gary Ratliff swore-in Woitena in front of his close friends and family members.
Assistant Chief Woitena began his career in League City in 1999. During his tenure, he has served in Patrol, Training Unit, Bike Patrol, Honor Guard, Marine Division, K9 Officer, Galveston County Auto-Crimes and as SWAT Commander. He has a Bachelors of Applied Arts and Science from Midwestern State University, a Master’s Degree – Criminal Justice Leadership and Management from Sam Houston State University, and is a Graduate of the 258th Session - FBI National Academy. He has been decorated many times during his career. In his new role, Woitena will work alongside Assistant Chief Tony Hera and will supervise support services, administrations, and animal control.
