Just weeks away from the anniversary of Hurricane Harvey, League
City’s Emergency Medical Services staff is packing up and moving back in to their station, which sustained extensive water damage from the storm . The building on FM 270 had to undergo remodeling and staff had to be temporarily housed in the City’s Planning Department building throughout the process. After Harvey, walls were torn down to eliminate existing mold and the building was painted inside and outside. A new roof, AC unit, windows and floors were installed. This week, League City employees are finally able to return to their new and improved station.
"It's been a long road with the repairing, we've all been very patient, but I'm happy that we finally get to come back," said Liza Martinez, League City EMS Paramedic.
With the help of employees and volunteers, the City's first responders expect to finish moving back into the remodeled station by the end of the week.
