The City of
League City, like other government agencies, regularly does business with qualified
suppliers and contractors who can provide quality
goods and services to the City at reasonable prices. Contracting with local businesses,
as well as minority owned business is important to us, and we want to make sure
those who would like to do business with the City know the steps to becoming an
approved vendor.
On
Friday, June 15, League City Purchasing Manager Al Turner will host a “Doing
Business with the City” informational session at 12:30 p.m. at the Johnnie Arolfo
Civic Center located at 400 West Walker Street. The one-hour session will provide an
overview of the City’s procurement processes, including how to pursue City
contracts. It also will highlight the most relevant rules, regulations, and
laws that govern the City’s procurement process to ensure those that are interested
in doing business with the City can successfully compete and succeed as a
vendor.
The
session is one of several being offered as part of the 2018 Business Expo and
Home and Garden Show. Hosted by the
League City Regional Chamber of Commerce, the free event is open to all members
of the public from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Civic Center and will feature
vendor booths, food trucks, a health and wellness area, silent auction, and a home
and garden show outside the center.
