League City Council Members, the Superintendent
of Santa Fe ISD, and other local leaders joined hundreds of Galveston County residents
on Sunday, May 21 to remember the 10 victims killed in last week’s Santa Fe
High School shooting.
The candlelight vigil, held at Walter Hall Park
in League City, was hosted by the Facebook group Moms of Galveston County with
from the City and the local Lions Club who rallied to organize the location, invite speakers, secure food, and assist with the set up.

photograph of each of the 10 victims.
Attendees lit candles and huddled together to
pray and remember the eight students and two adults killed
“Our hearts are very full because of all the
love and support we have been receiving for our students, staff, and community,”
said Santa Fe ISD Superintendent Leigh Wall.
“Our community has faced tragedy in the past and we have proven to be
