The League City family is mourning the loss of Joseph ‘JJ’ Jack who passed away June 26, 2016 at 2:05 a.m. from natural causes.
Jack was well known throughout the League City as a volunteer firefighter who was passionate about serving the community and fire service.
He selflessly volunteered with the League City Volunteer Fire Department from 1999 to 2011 and returned as a support member to the department in August 2015. He was also a member of the LCVFD’s Honor Guard.
“League City has lost a true public servant with the passing of Joseph “JJ” Jack,” said Gary Warren, League City Fire Chief. “JJ was a long standing member of the League City Volunteer Fire Department and also served the citizens of Kemah and Dickinson by supporting their fire prevention efforts … he will be sorely missed by everyone in the Bay Area.”
Jack also served as the City’s Deputy Fire Marshal and retired in 2013. He was also a member of the Kemah Fire Department and a part-time investigator for the Dickinson Fire Marshal’s Office.
A viewing is set for Thursday, June 30, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church (1612 E. Walker St.) from 5 to 8 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m.
The final viewing is scheduled for Friday, July 1, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, from 10 to 11 a.m. with Funeral Services at 11 a.m.
