  4. Building Department Meet and Greet

    February 28, 2020, 7:30 AM - 9:00 AM @ Civic Center

    The Building Department will host the first in the series of a new initiative, a “Breakfast Meet and Greet,” on Friday, February 28, for the building trades, and Friday, March 6, for developers and builders. These will occur from 7:30 to 9 a.m. and are designed to create a forum where information can be exchanged to help ensure communication between the industry and the staff. Meetings are expected to be held quarterly as staff develops the program and members of the department will be asked to participate as needed to answer questions from attendees. The Meet and Greets are part of City manager John Baumgartner’s priority for the City to be more proactive in dealing with questions and concerns that may arise during the building and permitting process.

    This course will help better prepare an individual who is taking the IAI Certification Test by providing and reviewing hundreds of sample questions pertaining to crime scene examination and analyzing. The number one reason why most crime scene investigations fail is because of inadequate crime scene processing. Working a crime scene, whether minor or major, is a process that involves a wide range of skills. This course was developed as a refresher workshop for crime scene officers, or for the new officer with limited exposure and experience in crime scene processing. the detection, collection, documentation and preservation of physical evidence are key elements involved in every crime scene. This course is provided by Forensic Pieces Training and Consulting.
