Interested in Volunteering at Community Events?

There are many ways to get involved in your City!

Volunteers are a key component to the success of every event at the City of League City. In addition to the Community Events & Activities listed here, most City departments accept volunteers to help with a wide range of fulfilling tasks - check out our “Get Involved” webpage for more City departments & activities where you can do your part!

Volunteers needed for the following events!

March: Walk for Wellness

  • Time Volunteers are needed: 7 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • This is a 5k/1k run/walk event benefiting the League City Senior Citizen Program. Volunteers will help with check-in and along the race course.
  • City Contact Person: Kathryn Ketchum.

June: White Linen Night 

  • Time volunteers are needed: day before the event marking spaces for artist booths, and the entire day and evening of the event.
  • An event focused on art and our historic charm, this event needs a large amount of volunteers. We need volunteers who are firm but friendly to help attendees find their way around the event and keep no parking areas clear of vehicles. Preferred age of volunteers: 18 or older.

July: Fireworks Extravaganza 

  • Time volunteers are needed: 4 to 9:30 p.m.
  • Each year we celebrate our independence with this event that has bounce houses, crafts, and fireworks. We need volunteers to help operate and oversee the safety of children in the bounce houses, as well as in the craft & activity stations. Preferred age of volunteers: 16 or older.

August: Clear Creek Paddle Race

  • Time Volunteers are needed: 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • This is a kayak/canoe/paddleboard race open to anyone, new or experienced paddlers. Volunteers will help with registration at the beginning of the event, then help with timing as the boats cross the finish line.

September: Community Health Fair

  • Time Volunteers are needed: 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • This is a health and wellness event where people will come to watch cooking demos, there will be face painting for kids, and health screenings with local clinics and hospitals, along with giveaways. Volunteers will be helping with set up, at the giveaway table, and with clean up.

September: EcoFest

  • Time Volunteers are needed: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • This event is all about sustainability and being eco-friendly in all areas of your life! There will be a plant sale, games, vendors, and classes on nature & sustainability. Volunteers will be helping with the classes to keep track of the number of people in each room, will be helping with the kids games, and general tasks throughout the day. Lunch will be provided.

October: Harvest Festival

  • Time Volunteers are needed: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • League City’s fall festival includes a hay ride, pumpkin patch, games, and crafts for kids. Volunteers will help with craft stations, games, setup, and tear down.

November: Veteran’s Day

  • Time Volunteers are needed: 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • This is our annual Veteran’s Day event, where we provide a free lunch to anyone who wants to join us, while we celebrate and thank our veterans. Volunteers will help with serving lunch to the attendees, along with set up and clean up.

November: Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony

  • Time Volunteers are needed: 5 to 8 p.m.
  • Our annual ceremony where we serve hot cocoa, have a few games, set up a holiday photo booth, and end with the lighting of our new 50-foot holiday tree at League Park. Volunteers will help with serving hot cocoa, managing the photo booth, and helping with clean up. Preferred age of volunteers: 14 or older. If younger than 14, an adult must accompany the volunteer for the duration of the event.
