Scope of work: 

Phase I: Improve waterway flowing into existing ponds in Westwood and Magnolia Creek, modify culvert on Summer Place to better control flow rates.

Phase II: Regrade slopes, revegetate area, and install erosion control measures.

Project Status as of December 2021

Project from GO Bond Election; held public meeting on June 13; Council awarded design in September 2019; 30% design drawings received on April 2020. Engineer submitted plans to USACE in September 2020 to determine permit required; comment response returned to USACE questions regarding permit in early November 2020; determination came back in July 2021 stating an individual permit is required; due to anticipated long permit process with USACE, construction is planned in FY2023 in the current CIP. Public meeting was held on April 8, 2021; video of presentation will be uploaded to engineering section of the City website. TEAMS meeting was held during the week of May 3, 2021 with the HOA and residents to discuss possible options for Rustic Oak Subdivision and West Oak Creek Community. Consultant working to find a suitable armor reinforced vegetation system for slope stabilization. USACE individual permit application was submitted during the first week of January 2022.

Original Schedule

The original schedule, as of September 2019, shows preliminary design programmed in quarter 4 of 2019 and quarter 1 of 2020 for Magnolia Creek and Cedar Gully Channel Improvements, Ph I & II. Design is programmed for quarter 3 of 2021 through quarter 2 of 2022. Permitting phase programmed for quarter 2 of 2020 through quarter 2 of 2021. Construction bidding is scheduled for quarter 3 of 2022 with construction following through quarter 4 of 2022. Construction time is an estimate as each bid is awarded based on cost and time submitted by the contractor.

Current Schedule

The current schedule, as of December 2021, for the Magnolia Creek and Cedar Gully Channel Improvements, Phase 1 and 2 project shows preliminary design in progress from quarter 4 of 2019 through quarter 4 of 2020. Final design is programmed for quarter 1 of 2022 through quarter 4 of 2022. Permitting is now in progress from quarter 4 of 2020 through quarter 2 of 2023. Construction bidding is programmed for quarter 2 of 2023. Construction is programmed for quarter 3 of 2023 through quarter 3 of 2024. Construction time is an estimate as each bid is awarded based on cost and time submitted by the contractor.
