Langley Well #1 Timeline
The following is a timeline of the Langley Well #1 (formerly South Hammock) project. This timeline will be continually updated. Note: Several of the files are large and may take a few minutes to download.
|June 26, 2012||Drilling has ended. The drilling rig has been disassembled and removed from the site.|
|March 22, 2012||Drilling begins on the drill-site.|
|July 19, 2011||Drilling Permit 2011-01 (PDF) is issued with 5 conditions. Those conditions are:
- Condition 1 (PDF): Prior to drilling, a construction permit must be issued for roadway access to the drill site.
- Condition 2 (PDF): Prior to drilling, a sound study must be finalized and approved by a city representative.
- Condition 3 (PDF): Prior to drilling, a site specific Emergency Action Plan must be approved by a city representative.
- Condition 4 (PDF): Prior to drilling, a revised site plan of the pad site must be approved by a city representative.
- Condition 5 (PDF): Prior to drilling, a photometric site plan with lighting contours must be approved by a city representative.
|June 30, 2011||T. Baker Smith submits third submittal of documents (PDF) based upon latest comments. The remaining outstanding comments were transferred into conditions of the Drilling Permit.|
|June 14, 2011||City Council approved the Right-of-Entry Agreement for Forza Operating, LLC to encroach upon the City's drainage easement to construct a roadway and a bridge to access the drill site without having to travel on municipal roadways. The Right-of-Entry Agreement (PDF) was recorded with Galveston County on August 31, 2011.|
|May 24, 2011||T. Baker Smith submitted the second submittal of documents (PDF) based on comments sent by City staff in April 2011. View the updated comments (PDF) based on the submitted and resubmitted materials.|
|April 25, 2011||T. Baker Smith, consultant for Forza Operating, LLC, submitted the initial documentation (PDF) and was forwarded to the April 28, 2011 Development Review Committee. View the comments (PDF) based on the submitted materials.|
|February 8, 2011||City Council approved the second reading of Ordinance #2011-02 (PDF) of, which approved the Special Use Permit (SUP10-04) with conditions for a drilling and mining use. The requests for rezoning the property as well as the SUP for a proposed pipeline are also approved at this meeting. |January 11, 2011||City Council approved the first reading of the Special Use Permit (SUP10-04) for a mining and drilling use, subject to conditions.
|November 15, 2011||The Planning and Zoning Commission reconsidered and recommended approval of SUP10-04 for a mining and drilling use, subject to conditions.|
|September 28, 2010||City Council remanded case SUP10-04 back to the Planning and Zoning Commission based upon the applicant's decision to change the access to the site, which was considered a substantive change. It was also one of the major concerns from the surrounding property owners and the ommission.|
|September 13, 2010||The Planning and Zoning Commission recommended denial of SUP10-04, the request for a drilling and mining use.|
